Returns & refunds
7-day change-of-mind returns on unused items. Faulty goods are covered by Australian Consumer Law statutory guarantees — no time limit.
Change of mind
You may return an item within 7 days of delivery if you change your mind. The item must be unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.
To start a return, email support@novalighting.com.au with your order number and reason. We will confirm the return address and next steps. Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are assessed case-by-case.
Faulty or not as described
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are entitled to a replacement, repair, or refund for goods that are faulty, unsafe, or significantly different from how they were described — regardless of any other policy window.
These are non-negotiable statutory rights. They cannot be limited by a returns window, a warranty period, or any business policy. For goods that are unsafe or have a major fault, you are entitled to choose between a refund, replacement, or repair.
To make a claim, email support@novalighting.com.au with your order number, a description of the fault, and clear photographs. We will respond within one business day.
Damaged in transit
If your order arrives visibly damaged, photograph the packaging and the item immediately before unpacking further, then contact support@novalighting.com.au within 48 hours. Transit damage is our responsibility — we will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
Warranty claims
All Nova Lighting products carry a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the delivery date. Warranty claims are separate from returns — see the Warranty page for full terms.
Dispute resolution
If you are not satisfied with how your return or refund has been handled, contact support@novalighting.com.au first. Unresolved disputes may be referred to Consumer Affairs Victoria (consumer.vic.gov.au) or the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (accc.gov.au).
